I had a few hours to spare in Phoenix before catching a flight home to Oklahoma last November. Thinking about the cold weather that I was headed back to, I decided a little time outdoors in the heat would do me some good. I ventured by myself to the Desert Botanical Garden where a Chihuly exhibit was just about set up for its run starting the following week. Because they were still assembling it I got to watch some of the pieces being carefully hammered into place (see last photo on the right).
It was a really interesting idea to juxtapose cactus, sand, and desert life with shiny colorful glass sculptures. I really liked it and wanted to share my perspective. Enjoy!
