Autumn in New York City

My sister and I went to New York City a few weeks ago to visit family and see the sights during the best time of the year: Autumn! Some highlights included Central Park, Top of the Rock, Brooklyn Bridge, Mast Brothers Chocolate Makers, Riverside Park, a family dinner night in the Bronx, Joe Coffee, and a fun tour of the You’ve Got Mail filming locations.

It may sound cliche, but NYC is such an inspiring place for me as a photographer. The entire trip is like one long lifestyle photo shoot. And it’s amazing. I’m blogging about this trip over on my travel blog, so bookmark that if you’d like!

Lifestyle Photos – Margy of Healthy & Hustlin’

Margy is an AADP Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who recently launched her business called Healthy & Hustlin’. She contacted me in need of imagery for her website and social media – everything from headshots to active workout photos! We shot everything at the New Urbanism community of Carlton Landing as it provided us the perfect backdrop for each lifestyle scenario. Margy’s boyfriend came along to hop in a few photos and we all had a lovely meal together that evening prepared by Margy herself!

Check out Healthy & Hustlin’ for a boost to a healthy lifestyle!

Interiors – Bright, Clean, & Beachy

Last week I was tasked with photographing the interiors of a home at Carlton Landing. If you’ve been following my work over the past year you may recognize the style of this charming home, as it is near the Carlton Landing home I photographed last year (here and here). I also came out here earlier this year to assist with a Southern Living photoshoot, which was super exciting!

Photographing this home (it’s called the Boardwalk Bungalow) was so. much. fun. I got to stay here the night before so I woke up to the most delicious light, made myself some coffee, turned on my Jack Johnson station on Apple Radio, and got to work. I love how the home owner has decorated with the beach theme, but kept it modern with all white walls and really bright pops of color. And the marble countertops in the kitchen are something to write home about themselves! :)

You can stay in this beautiful home by renting it for a weekend or whatnot. It’s a wonderful getaway, only 2 hours from OKC!

Stay tuned for more photos from this same visit featuring Margy from Healthy and Hustlin’!

Scenes of the Southwest

My husband and I recently embarked on a road trip through the Southwest to visit National Parks and other natural attractions. It’s such a beautiful part of the country, with so many things to see within a couple hours of each other. We spent six days on the road, exhausting ourselves everyday with hiking and hanging out in the desert heat. But the pay off was so high with unbelievable sights and a ridiculous amount of photo ops. Visual candy, I tell you!

I will be posting more casual photos and details about our itinerary on my travel blog if you’re interested in reading more about our trip!
